Well, I didn't reinvent the wheel or anything, but if you needed a good apple compote recipe, here's one for you :)

  • Peel the apples and cut them into cubes.
  • In a large pot, cook the apples over medium heat with 250 mL of water. When it starts to boil, lower the heat to a simmer. Let it simmer for an hour and a half without a lid, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the sugar and cinnamon, then turn off the heat.
  • You can blend the applesauce if you want, or leave it as is! Store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.
