Vegan Potato Gratin with Chive Cream

Vegan Potato Gratin with Chive Cream
For: 3 serv.Difficulty: EasyPreparation: 20 minCooking: 45 min

It's not often that we see potatoes on this blog, strangely enough... But here, we're treating ourselves with a good ol' family-style gratin ;-) By the way, the recipe is also in video here, and that's cool!

We didn't want to name it "gratin dauphinois" because you never know, there are purists lurking around and we wouldn't want to get our fingers slapped!

So you can call it whatever you want, but it's really simple: potatoes, soy cream, a little nutmeg, and we serve it with a chive sauce :-D Yum...

  • Wash the potatoes and slice them into rounds.
  • Heat the soy cream and soy milk with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. In your baking dish, pour a little bit of cream, then half of the potatoes. Cover with a bit more cream and then the other half of the potatoes. Finish with the remaining cream. Sprinkle with gomasio.
  • Bake for 45 minutes (it may take longer depending on the thickness of the potatoes). Check for doneness with the tip of a knife.
  • Finely chop the chives and mix them with the yogurt, salt, and pepper. Serve this sauce with the gratin!
