Ginger Lemonade

Ginger Lemonade
For: 1 LDifficulty: EasyPreparation: 15 minCooking: 10 min

So yes, it's not necessarily the season when we drink the most lemonade, we agree... But I always have some old lemons and pieces of ginger in my fridge that come from my weekly fruit and vegetable basket and which I struggle to use... And I thought I wasn't the only one ;)

Moreover, we could all use a little boost to our immune system, so go ahead, squeeze those old lemons lying around at your place!

  • Start by squeezing about 5-6 lemons to get 300 mL of juice.
  • Thinly slice the ginger (you can leave the skin on if it is washed).
  • In a saucepan, heat, covered, 250 mL of water with the ginger and sugar. When it boils, turn off the heat and let it steep for 15 minutes, still covered.
  • Strain the ginger syrup and let it cool down completely.
  • Mix the ginger syrup with the lemon juice and 500 mL of cold water. Serve nice and cold!
