Pici is this super simple pasta to make, quickly and without any equipment. It comes from Tuscany, Siena to be specific, and I think it's really cool! When I was a teenager, we went to Tuscany for the first time with my parents, and after that, I bought a Tuscan cookbook π
π Inside, there were a few recipes that I didn't really feel like trying, like bread soup, haha...(I'm sure it's great, but on paper, I'm not ready, ok?). But there were also pici! By the way, I believe these fresh pastas there are never made with eggs, good to know for your next trip to Sienaπ
If you've never made homemade pasta, and want to try, you should start with this one: no need for a pasta machine, no utensil required and it's not very long! It's like play-dough level haha, so even, it can be a family activity!
For the sauce, here, I decided to make a quick "al carne" sauce with homemade veggie mince, which I'm going to talk about in the recipe. And a banana pepper. It's very mild, it brings freshness, I loved it π
