In my quest for budget-friendly meals, I've started making legume steaks more often. It's very 2014, I admit, but it's still just as good and simple 😍




  • -cooked black beans 270 (g)
  • -oat flakes 4 (tbsp)
  • -all-purpose flour 1 (tbsp)
  • -salt
  • -Cajun spicesoptional
  • -neutral oil 1 (tbsp)

  • -tomatoes 1
  • -olive oil 1 (tbsp)
  • -lemon juice 1 (tsp)
  • -Salt flakes

  • Prepare the steaks: mash the drained black beans into a purée. Add the oats, flour, salt, and any spices of your choice if you have some. Mix to form a dough. Shape 4 steaks by hand.
  • In a pan, heat the neutral oil. Grill the steaks on high heat for 2 minutes on each side to get a crispy exterior.
  • Dice the tomato and add the oil, lemon, and salt.
  • On plates, serve roasted potatoes. Place two steaks next to them and the diced tomato mixture.
