Ginger and Hibiscus Mocktail

Ginger and Hibiscus Mocktail
For: 4 servingsDifficulty: EasyPreparation: 5 minCooking: 15 minRest: 10 min

At the moment, I'm not drinking alcohol, so I often make mocktails in the evening for my aperitif ๐Ÿ˜ And honestly, it's a bit like when I used to make gin cocktails but... without the gin ๐Ÿ˜…

Here I made my usual ginger syrup, I make it ALL THE TIME, I love it! With a hibiscus infusion and some lime, it's so refreshing.

Of course, you could add a dose of your favorite local gin!

The ginger syrup I make is light on sugar, so I can add more to the drink and really get that ginger flavor. If you're using store-bought ginger syrup, you should use 1.5 cL per drink instead of 3 cL!

  • Prepare the ginger syrup: thinly slice the ginger. In a small saucepan, heat it with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it steep for 10 minutes. Add the sugar and continue cooking for 3 minutes. Strain and pour the syrup into a bottle.
  • Prepare the hibiscus infusion: heat the water with the dried hibiscus. Bring to a boil, then turn off the heat. Let it steep for 10 minutes and strain to collect the juice.
  • Juice the limes.
  • In each of the 4 whiskey glasses or tumblers, pour the juice of half a lemon, 3 cL of ginger syrup, 7 cL of infusion, two big ice cubes, and top up with sparkling water! You can add a bit of lime zest and it's ready.
