I have very painful periods and quite severe PMS, so plants don’t do everything at times, but they help so much! In my café, I had two partners (who are also my dear friends) who are knowledgeable about medicinal plants, so I learned a lot by their side. We had a list of homemade herbal teas with medicinal properties for different body organ systems. So I was inspired by what they taught me to create my magical tea to better cope with the period before and during my menstruation.
Lemon balm for its soothing and relaxing properties. It helps reduce stress, anxiety, and irritability. It also has antispasmodic effects that can relieve abdominal pain associated with periods. Raspberry leaf for its benefits in toning the uterus, helping to make periods more regular and less painful. It is also often used to reduce menstrual cramps and improve blood circulation in the pelvic area. Ginger and cinnamon for their anti-inflammatory power. They can relieve menstrual pain by reducing abdominal cramps thanks to their antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties. Lavender, which calms and soothes, perfect for bedtime. Sage, also antispasmodic and with calming properties. Lemongrass, which is antispasmodic and diuretic, useful for relieving water retention related to PMS. And dried strawberries, rich in vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant, and for their sweet little taste.
