Vegan Dirty Chai Filled Donuts

Vegan Dirty Chai Filled Donuts

I absolutely fell in love with these donuts—they’re incredibly delicious! I used my classic vegan donut dough recipe that I’ve been making for a few years, and I filled them with a dirty chai pastry cream. Both the barista and the pastry chef in me are thrilled with this recipe 😍

If you’re not familiar with dirty chai, it’s a popular drink that’s a mix between a coffee latte and a chai latte. At my café, we made it with about 65 mL of chai concentrate (a homemade infusion of Indian spiced tea with strong flavors), a shot of espresso, and around 170 mL of micro-foamed oat milk. If this inspires you for your home brews, now you’ve got the recipe!

For the dirty chai cream, I kept it simpler! It’s just a coffee, cinnamon, and ginger pastry cream. I also rolled the donuts in cinnamon sugar—it was amazing. We ended up eating two each that evening!
