BeaverTails are a Canadian sweet specialty, mainly popularized by a chain of the same name. It’s a type of fried dough shaped like a beaver tail. And, like a piece of toast, you can add lots of toppings on top! It’s super tasty and comforting, for me it’s winter food, like something you’d find at Christmas markets, etc. 😍 Like many fried doughs, the batter is very simple and often accidentally vegan. At BeaverTails shops, the classic one (rolled in sugar and cinnamon) and 3 or 4 other flavors are vegan—I think you just need to mention it when ordering, just to be sure!
With this homemade recipe, I made three: the classic sugar and cinnamon, a chocolate-pecan, and a banana-peanut butter one 🥰 If you want more inspiration, I recommend trying something with caramelized apples and maple syrup, for example!
