Vegan Sweet Potato Burger with Bell Pepper Ketchup

Vegan Sweet Potato Burger with Bell Pepper Ketchup
For: 4 pcs.Difficulty: EasyPreparation: 45 minCooking: 15 min

This blog is really turning into a burger blog... (does that exist?). By the way, we found in our not-so-distant archives (we'll admit), our first burger, on which Kévin explained to us that burgers were not American (yes, yes, yes ladies and gentlemen) but German, from Hamburg. That's a very interesting piece of information... But boy, were we annoying back then ;-)

To be honest, we weren't really planning on sharing this recipe with you, we're afraid you might get tired of all our burgers and that it might become too bad for your waistline ;) But there you have it...it was stuck in our heads... And it's always an extra idea if you don't know what to cook for dinner tonight hehe!

  • Prepare the little sweet potato cakes: grate the peeled sweet potatoes. Drain well and season. Add the flour to form cakes in your hands.
  • Heat some olive oil in a frying pan. Brown the patties in it.
  • Prepare the bell pepper and tomato ketchup: wash the bell pepper and bake it in the oven at 200°C (392°F) for 20 minutes.
  • Peel the onion and dice it. Sauté them in oil in a saucepan. Wash the tomatoes and remove the skin from the bell pepper. Chop everything into cubes and add to the saucepan. Cook covered for 10 minutes. Blend the sauce. Add the vinegar, sugar, and tomato paste. Season to taste.
  • Prepare the onion compote: peel the remaining 2 onions and cut them in half. Slice them thinly. Heat a little oil in your saucepan and add the onions and a small amount of water. Cook covered for about 10 minutes. Add a pinch of salt.
  • Finish your burgers: slice cucumber and tomato into rounds. Toast the burger buns cut in half.
  • Place, in your bread, some ketchup, a patty, onion compote, cucumber and tomato slices, and lamb's lettuce.
