I’ve been drinking matcha almost daily for the past 8 years, and I often get asked how I prepare it whenever people spot it in my stories 😅 Honestly, I don’t do anything special — it’s super basic — but I figured for those who aren’t familiar with it, a little basic tutorial could be helpful.
Here’s how I make my morning matcha latte: just matcha, water, and plant-based milk! I personally don’t like it sweet, but of course, feel free to add a sweetener if you prefer.
As for the matcha brands I always recommend:
• In Quebec, I love Sakao — the one I’ve been loyal to for 8 years. It’s naturally smooth and not bitter at all. It’s a small Quebec company founded by Reina Sakao, a descendant of a tea family who also leads traditional tea ceremonies.
• I also really like Noka Matcha, which I’m using here. It’s a French brand, a bit stronger and slightly more bitter — I love it too! It’s a bit pricier since it’s in euros, of course.
